Habitat for Humanity

I joined the Habitat for Humanity group in CA in my sophomore year. At first, I joined Habitat because Ben Ryu suggested me that it is one of the greatest experiences you can have in your life. As what Ben said, after my first trip to Malaysia, I experienced many new things that I would not have been able to experience in my daily lives. I gained more interest in Habitat activity and so I joined the next year and visited Thailand. Although the work for building house in Malaysia and Thailand was slightly different, the impact the experience had on me were both significant. I understood how I could help people tremendously just by traveling over to the country. By staying in a hotel as a group, we pay for the rooms and the food we have three meals a day. When we go to the work place, we pay for the ride over and the construction materials. Even though we may not build a fancy house, just by visiting the place, we can help them. Rather than spending my time at my house doing nothing over the spring break, I find it more interesting and meaningful if I do service for people around the world. I am very much looking forward to the upcoming trip to Thailand 🙂
