Repond to Kanika’s post titled “Tax Cuts and the Wealthy”

Tax is what transfers wealth from households or businesses to the government of a nation. Progressive tax is when the effective tax rate increases as a person’s income goes up. In this article that Kanika shared, the writer Standish M. Fleming talks about how the idea of eliminating the Bush tax cuts for everyone but “the wealthy” ignores the most productive minority in society. I agree to Mr. Fleming’s opinion that it is unfair how everyone can have tax cuts but the rich. It makes mathematical sense, but it does not correspond to the support that the rich should receive by their productiveness. This idea can actually be classified as progressive: the rich have to pay more tax than the poor.
